FAQS «

  1. WHAT IS A COMBO TEAM? A COMBO TEAM is comprised of players from different team rosters when there is LOW and VARYING availability of players for a specific game. This also helps prevent game forfeits when there are last minute player cancellations.
  2. WHAT IS A * NEXT TO A PLAYER’S NAME? (*): Player is an alternate on another team. Please click Player Participation Commitment Policy button above for further explanation.
  3. WHAT DO I DO WHEN I HAVE A ROLLOVER REGISTRATION FEE? Please indicate rollover status in the Roll Call form. Otherwise, you can let us know via email. For shootout games and tournaments where the event host has canceled, fees will roll over to the next event. Unfortunately, refunds may not be issued due to processing fees incurred by SCF.
  4. WHAT IS AN “ALTERNATE” TEAM ROSTER? An “Alternate” team roster consists of backup players who can join the team when needed. These players fill in for official roster players during injuries or absences. They may also be called up by the coach to play at a higher level for evaluation and potential advancement to a more competitive team. Alternates can participate with both their primary team and other teams as required.
  5. WHY DO I HAVE TO REGISTER & PAY FOR WEEKEND GAMES: Registering for weekend games confirms player’s commitment to their teammates. It also helps cover team registration for events, coaches and admin fees outside of player development and team practices. To read more about parental commitment, click here.

PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT «

Student first: Our expectation for each player in our program is to display the behavior of a student athlete. Your academic and classroom performance comes first. Basketball is a privilege and a privilege can be taken away if the student is not excelling in the classroom.

Demonstrate sportsmanship: The way in which you choose to conduct yourself has a long lasting effect on everyone around you. To be the best athlete you must always strive to be the best version of yourself on and off the court. That means respecting yourself and others, being a good teammate and representing what it means to be a FIERCE athlete.

Be coach-able: Being able to listen and take instruction and execute under your coach’s direction demonstrates what it means to be coachable. Being coachable gets you in the game and helps your team excel. We expect our FIERCE athletes to follow directions given by their coach and other staff members.

Be a good teammate: Every player on your team has their own strengths and weaknesses. Basketball is a team sport and your success is your team’s success. The best players learn their teammates’ abilities to become successful as a group. There is no place for bullying or any un-Fierce-like behavior and players will be reprimanded immediately. We build each other up, not tear each other down.

Game behavior: Basketball officials are a part of the game. It is your job as a player to learn how to overcome adversity when certain calls do not go your way. We all have experienced the emotions of what we feel are unjust calls, however, we should avoid allowing our emotions to make us lose focus of doing our job on the court. There is ZERO tolerance for disrespect towards officials or any associated game day personnel. FIERCE athletes seen disrespecting or complaining to the officials will be immediately reprimanded and/or benched.

Enjoy the game, enjoy the process: Playing travel/club basketball is an opportunity to learn, grow and create memories. Win or lose, enjoy every moment of the experience. Basketball is a sport that will help shape you into upstanding student athletes. It will teach you invaluable lessons about life and equip you with tools that will help you beyond the game.
